Jacobo Alvarez
Heart of a Leon Award

This award was first awarded during the 2023-24 academic year and is named after La Academia’s first head baseball coach, Jacobo Alvarez. This award is given annually to the baseball scholar-athlete who best exemplifies what it means to be a leon. They are a servant to their community, an engaged and truth-seeking scholar and an undeterred, exemplary baseball athlete. The award winner will have their name engraved on a plaque that will hang in the main hall of LAPCS.

Most Improved Player Award

This award was first awarded during the 2023-24 academic year and is open to all baseball athletes who have already completed at least one full season of competition. This award is given annually to the baseball scholar-athlete who has shown the greatest amount of growth and development in both the areas of baseball and personal character. The award winner will have their name engraved on a plaque that will hang in the main hall of LAPCS.
