A message from our Principal
Dear LAPCS Community,
I am thrilled to be appointed as the Principal / Chief Academic Officer for La Academia Partnership Charter School to serve and continue to fulfill the vision and mission established by not only our board of directors, but also our community. I have enjoyed my years as an educator in both the United States and abroad. During my ten-year span across the United States, I held various administrative positions as Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, Assistant Principal, Resident Principal and Principal. Earlier in my career, I served in various Chicago Public Schools’ as a teacher, instructional coach, and administrator.
As a Latino educator who has spent my career eradicating the inequity found in education for Latino and African American youth, I could not be more proud than to join a community who values the importance of preparing children for the future and beyond. As I became more immersed in the mission and culture of LAPCS throughout the last two months of the school year, it became very clear that LAPCS is a place that changes lives and communities. I count it an honor and a privilege to be joining and leading such a wonderful community that is dedicated to providing families with the best education and learning experiences for our learners today, tomorrow, and beyond.
I want to thank the Search Committee and Board of Directors for leading such a thoughtful hiring process that allowed me the opportunity to meet many members of the LAPCS community and gain for all of the special things happening to prepare students for either college or the workforce. I look forward to further develop and build upon this strong foundation in partnership with students, faculty, staff, parents, and the Board of Directors.
I find it an immense privilege to move to Lancaster and to become acclimated with the culture here. Over the coming months, my focus will be on working with the team to build relationships and learn more about the school. I am honored to be your new Principal and look forward to a transformative 2019-2020 school year.
