Dear La Academia Community,
As we begin 2019, we are especially aware of the many changes that are on the horizon for La Academia Partnership Charter School. As our name implies, partnerships have always been at the heart of our school. Our partnership with the Spanish American Civic Association has been a mainstay of the school since its inception. SACA is not only our landlord, but they are a founding member of our board, our fiscal administrator and our dedicated supporters in the community. Our partnership with the School District of Lancaster continues to strengthen our school through support for our food program and their ongoing academic guidance and advice. For the past two years, we have had a school improvement partnership with the Lancaster County STEM Alliance and The Steinman Foundation. Their generous support for improvements to our academic program, facilities and professional development programming is making a profound difference for our students. These are only a few of the many partnerships that define our school.

This year, we will begin a search for our next Head of School. We hope to find a leader who will not only honor the many people and partnerships that have helped to shape our identity over the past twenty years, but who will also bring a new vision for 21st century learning to our school community. I'm honored to serve as Interim Principal during this period of transition and will do my very best to make sure that all of our students receive the high quality education they deserve.

As we work together this year, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or thoughts you may have about the teaching and learning that's occurring at La Academia. We need your ongoing feedback and support to make our school the best it can be. I can be reached at aferg@lapcs.org or by calling the school. I look forward to hearing from you.
